The form of appearance of the health news on the national print media in 2012 in turkey and their informing levels: The examples of the newspapers Habertürk, Hürriyet, Posta, Sabah, Sözcü and Zaman

The purpose of the study is to determine the viewpoints of the health news of 6 newspapers published in the national print media in 2012, which had the highest sale and to find out whether the annunciation value of the press tallies with the publication they make. For this purpose, the newspapers having a key position in the press such as Habertürk, Hürriyet, Posta, Sabah, Sözcü and Zaman have been examined during 6 months and their methods they use while reporting news have been studied. A total of 408 news were examined during a 6 month period. As a result of the study, it was ascertained that the proportion of the health news in the newspapers was rather low compared to the number of months reviewed. And as to the parts related to the content of the news about health, it was found out that these news had the quality of news, that they stayed away from any sensation, that they didn't have any provocative nature, and they didn't have any purpose for entertaining. Among the findings it was understood that they usually had a clear and comprehensible narrative, they had a persuasive nature and their informing level was high. And the issues of news generally constituted the diseases and their treatment, and the health policies. Key Words: Health, News, Newspaper, Press, National
