The concept of privatization emerged with the liberalization trend that occurred after 1980. Privatizations spread throughout the world in a short time. After 1980, privatizations began to be applied in Turkey and Balkan countries. Turkey and the Balkan countries have remained quite late for privatizations compared to developed countries. In the study, which cause obstacles to privatizations in Turkey and the Balkan countries were examined. Then, the privatization processes and revenues of these countries are discussed. In the framework of the findings, a comparative assessment was made and suggested how a healthy privatization process should be.
