Artificial intelligence technology in the banking sector in Turkey

The banking sector ranks first among the financial systems that provide transfer transactions between savers and those in need of resources. Along with the age of technology, the banking sector has also been under the influence of the changes in all other areas. Artificial intelligence technology has seriously affected the banking sector, as it has affected all sectors, and has carried banking services to a different dimension. Aiming to maximize customer satisfaction in an increasingly competitive environment, banks have sought to create solutions that will enable customers to receive banking services in the most advantageous and fastest way by using various artificial intelligence applications. The use of artificial intelligence technology in the banking sector; It provides many advantages to users in terms of performing transactions faster, being accessible at all times, providing security applications and reducing costs. This study, titled "Artificial Intelligence Technology in the Banking Sector in Turkey", was written on the basis of qualitative research method and aims to reveal the current situation of artificial intelligence technology, which has an important place in the banking sector, in Turkey. In the first part of the study, literature review is given first, then the concept of artificial intelligence is defined, and in the second part, the concept of banking and its situation in Turkey are discussed. In the third chapter, which is the last chapter, the relationship between the banking sector and artificial intelligence applications has been examined and examples of artificial intelligence-based applications currently used in the banking sector in Turkey are given. The third part also includes new trends in the banking sector during the Covid-19 Pandemic Period (epidemic). It has been concluded that the effective use of artificial intelligence technology in the banking sector provides great convenience for users. It has been observed that banks make extensive use of digital banking activities and artificial intelligence-based applications in order to be least affected by the recent Covid-19 pandemic (epidemic) process and to provide the best service to their customers. Along with the economic effects of the Covid-19 epidemic, it was necessary to make changes in the functioning of the banking sector. Although there are differences in the focus of remote working, access to financial opportunities, customer and technological developments, artificial intelligence studies are also on the agenda of banks.
