Works written for the purpose of teaching the science of rhetoric in Türkiye

This study focuses on the works written with the aim of teaching the science of rhetoric in Turkey. This study consists of an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion. Two titles are discussed in the introduction. In the first heading, the purpose, scope and method of our study, and in the second heading, information about Arabic language learning and teaching in the faculties of Theology, Imam-Hatip schools, Religious High Specialisation Centres and finally madrasahs in the Republican period is given. Then a general introduction and detailed examination of the works which are the main subject of our study are discussed in two parts. In the first chapter, a general introduction of the works written for the purpose of teaching the science of rhetoric in Turkey was made by ordering them according to the dates of the first edition. In the second part, these works are analysed in detail. Here, the content, method, examples and exercises are emphasised. Attention has been drawn to works in question if they have different features from each other. The situations that should or should not be in the works are also mentioned. In the conclusion part, the different aspects of the works discussed, which work may be more useful for students, the type and number of examples are briefly mentioned.
