Abstract (EN)

In this study, the morphological and anatomical features were investigated of three taxon of Hippocrepis L. species which spreading naturally in Turkey. In the morphological part of the study, annual three taxon too had tap-root. Erect and decumbent stems were determined in H. unisiliquosa ssp. unisiliquosa and H. ciliata taxon. H. multisiliquosa species have decumbent stem. While stem were 15-50 cm in H. unisiliquosa ssp. unisiliquosa subspecies , that 10-25 cm in H. ciliata and 10-42 cm, in H. multisiliquosa species. Fruit was lomentoid and curved of all taxons. H. unisiliquosa ssp. unisiliquosa's fruit is carrying 4-8 seed, H. ciliata' s fruit is carrying 5-8 seed and H. multisiliquosa' s fruit is carrying 7-12 seed. In anatomical studies, root, stem, leaf and fruit cross sections were investigated of three taxon. There was a single layered epidermis in outer surface of root cross-section of each taxon. Cortex that under the epidermis was 5-6, 9-13 ve 10-12 layered respectively H. unisiliquosa ssp. unisiliquosa, H. ciliata and H. multisiliquosa. In cross-section of stem, H. unisiliquosa ssp. unisiliquosa has 12-15 number vscular bundles, H. ciliata has 12-14 number vscular bundles and H. multisiliquosa has12-13 vascular bunles. Pith area is parenchmatied in each three taxon. In leaf cross-section, while 2-3 layered palisade parenchyma was present in H. ciliata and H. multisiliquosa that 1-2 layered. Stomata were present on each surface of leaf in three taxon too. Chromosome numbers were determined as 2n = 2x = 14 in each taxon. The mitotic chromosome number and karyotype of the taxa were reported here for the first time in present study. H. unisiliquosa ssp. unisiliquosa and H. multisiliquosa has 6 metacentric, 1 submetacentric chromosome, H. ciliata has 4 metacentric, 3 submetacentric chromosome.
