Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, we aimed to develop new cultivars by using chemical and physical mutation methods for some cyclamen species (C. pseudibericum, C. hederifolium,C. graecum, C. persicum ve C. coum) which grow naturally in Turkey. In vivo experiments the seeds were treated with 5 gamma irradiation doses (5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 Gy) from Cobalt(60) source. In the in vitro study, calli were treated with colchicine (%0.0 and %1) and oryzalin (0.0 % and 0.05 %) for 3, 5 and 7 deys and 10 gamma irradiation doses (4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40 Gy) from Cobalt(60) source. During the study, plant formation, germination and survival rate were investigated. According to the findings two tetraploid plants were found. The LD50 was found for seed germination and seedling survival. The ploidy level of the plants which obtained by in vivo and in vitro methods was analysed with flow cytometry. Morphological and histological observation were also done to determine tetraploid plants.
