Abstract (EN)

After the Industrial Revolution, the impact of the humanity on climate increased significantly. In 1990s, these effects reached threatening levels. Political authorities have begun to take into account the work performed by scientists and started to take various measures to address climate change. Various international protocols were signed after many negotiations. The most important of these protocols is the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The framework agreement is the beginning of the fight against climate change in the world. Other important treaties such as the Kyoto Protocol is assessed as part of this agreement. The European Union is working together with the UN and the United States have also set their own protocols. A concept came out along with the importance of combating climate change: National Adaptation Strategies. National Adaptation Strategies consists of documents containing climate change action plans for each country. Turkey has also prepared her climate change adaptation plans in compliance with the European Union adaptation strategies. Here, the important part is that the National Adaptation Strategy should be developed according to the needs of different regions.
