Abstract (EN)
Turkey is ranked very low among the countries which have quality education system. This is due to two reasons. The first reason is that, Turkey has very low education expenditures Gross Domestic Product (GDP) ratio relative to that o developed countries. Secondly, the lack of efficiency in both use of resources devoted to education and failure to direct them in prudent areas. The recent increase of enrollment rate in universities seems to have a positive effect on improving the quality of labor force. However, the wrong choice of students majör during college education leads to agglomeration causing an increase in both unemployment and unproductive employmentin the future. Therefore, there is a need for perfect match between individual's abilities, the choice of course and job market availability. As a result, for a good education system to be formed, there is a need to examine the education systems of other high ranking countries in terms of education. Also, expenditure on education should be increased and productive investment must be made in that area. For quality and equity in the Turkish education system, socioeconomic differences between individuals should be minimized. Firstly, it focused on employment and employment theories. Then, the study systematically describes the Turkish education system. The share of education expenditure to GDP and Central Administrative Budget on education is also considered in the study. This context education spending was compared to the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) and selected countries. Finally, the study considered and involved the number of teachers, academic staffs and students in Turkey's education sector. KEY WORDS: Employment, Economic Impact of Education, Education.
