Economic crises and dolarization movements in Turkey

The purpose of this study examining of dollarization concept is to demonstrate and Turkey view of the phenomenon of dollarization in the economy. In this context, the concept of dollarization the types of costs and benefit, its causes, its effects on the economy, the view in developing countries, and after taken the dollarization of measurement, Turkey's economic periods, the majör economic crises experienced and reveals the appearance of the dollarization process in Turkey.1980s began to be seen as the phenomenon of dollarization in Turkey, 1990 showed the effect as much. It can be said that high inflation rates have an effect on the phenomenon of dollarization, which increases especially during economic crisis periods.Dollarization process in Turkey shows an upward trend in the 1989-2001 period. The dollarization level increased with the uncertainty that emerged with the 1994 and 2001 crises. Although the dollarization level decreased between 2003 and 2012 with the economic program implemented after 2001, it is seen that it has increased again to the present as of this date.
