Sociological evaluation of social policies related with disability in Turkey

Nowadays, expedients about disability have a great change with advancing technology. These expedients aim to involve the disabled person in the society to make him a part of the society and to ensure that he has the same rights as non-disabled people. In spite of these expedients, disabled people still don't have living conditions which they want. After 2000s, intensive studies have been made about disability in our country. Before 2000 the studies about disability were limited but after 2000 comprehensive politics have been made. Seen as an disadvantageous group, great steps have been taken about the disabled people. Pension of the disabled and retirement pension which is paid in every 3 months aim to prosper. Furthermore, some organisations play an active role to provide the disabled people to get into the spirit of something. Besides some studies are made for disabled people who can go out without companion. The aim of this master thesis is to examine the social politics about disabled and to evaluate these politics sociologically ın Turkey. The research shows that great steps have been taken. However, the disabled people meet with great difficulties. It is necessary to create comprehensive solutions.
