A research on factors influencing the organizational commitment of white collar employees in aviation sector of Turkey

The importance of the human factor has reached an undeniable point regarding the functioning of organizations that exist in all areas of our lives and producing high value-added outputs. Nowadays, it is possible for enterprises whose technical facilities are similar to create difference only with high quality human resources. The increase in the importance of the human factor has resulted in the increase of studies on the concept of organizational commitment. Aviation sector is one of the sectors that is in parallel with technological development in terms of its structure. In today's world, the necessity of doing more work in less time due to increasing competition in every field increases the importance of the sector. The aim of this study is to identify the factors effecting the organizational commitment level of the aviation sector employees in Turkey. For this purpose, it has been tried to determine whether the commitment levels of the white collar employees differ depending on their gender, age, education level, working time in the institution, working status in the same sector and managerial duties. The sample of the study, which was conducted with a quantitative research design, consists of the white-collar employees of two aviation sector organizations whose centers are located in Istanbul. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 22 program. According to the findings there is a significant relationship between organizational commitment and age, education level and working time variables.
