Özet (EN)

This study has been performed for the purpose of making contribution to the development of geothermal greenhousing in our country and researching the sustainability of geothermal greenhousing and comparing the geothermal greenhouses which are known as technological greenhouses with their classical greenhouse type. During the performance of the study, the need for the greenhouses whose observations and determinations are made regarding their closeness to each other in terms of climate was supervised. For this reason, one of the stove-heated and tomato-producing greenhouses which is located in Banaz district of Uşak province was selected as a classical greenhouse. And the technological glass greenhouse, i.e. geothermal-heated greenhouse which is located within the same climate region and was established with modern technology in Çobanlar district of Afyonkarahisar province was selected as the research area. Primarily, the development process of tomato vegetable was observed in monthly periods in the area where classical type of greenhouse is found and details and data with regard to other costs were obtained by interviewing relevant people face to face. Data obtained were evaluated in several ways and presented in tables. On the other hand, product development process and process related to efficiency were observed in the geothermal greenhouse site with the same method and data were obtained and these data were constantly updated. Product amount that is obtained in a day was also obtained by taking information by relevant engineers. Establishment costs of the geothermal greenhouse, costs regarding product planting, cultivation process and employee costs were also obtained and information related to the sustainability and establishment process of geothermal greenhouses was gathered. According to the researches done, self-subsidization rate of the geothermal greenhouses in the long run is faster than that of the classical greenhouses. Furthermore, because heat losses are less in geothermal greenhouses and because modern production method is used, the efficiency rate is about 20% higher than that of classical greenhouses.
