The problem of the informal economy in Turkey and the efficiency of fighting the informal economy

In the study is has been studied on the fight againstthe enformal economy in Türkiye. In general, the definitions of the informal economyin the litarature, the effects of the informal oconomy, the reasıns fort he energence of the şnformal economy, the scope of the informal economy, measurement methods, methods of combating the informal economy in Türkiye and ist he world are mentioned in adition, in the stuty measures to prevent the informal economy in Türkiye are mentioned and solutions are presented. The methods of measuring the informal economy and positive and negative methods of the informal economy arementioned. The informal economy is referred to by many different names, as there are many different issues it affects is affected by its natüre Such as the hidden aconemy the informal economy, the underground economy... Due to the detailed natüre of the sebject it has become difficult to measure and clear data cannot be obtained from the results obtained. According to studies measuring the informal economy, it is calcullated as one third of the GNP in Türkiye. Variorus steps were taken within the scope of combating in the informal economy in Türkiye affer the 1980s, but glabal economic crises were interrupted or not effective due topolitical periods and similar reasons. As a result the way to prevent the informal economy; Issues such as repairing fragile economies, eliminating legal gaps, establishing a clear and up-to-date legislative system, fair distribution of the taxburden, ensuring justice in income distribution reducing the tax burden will increaseeffectiveness in narrowing the scope of the in informal economy The aim of this study is to increase the effectiveness of the policies followed in Türkiyeand to add new ones to the search for solutions.
