Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is estimating Turkey?s import function after Custom Union with cointegration analysis. Income and relative prices are taken as the determinants of import function. Import function is examined between the periods of 1996:1 and 2010:12 on the general model, sectoral basis and on a commodity. Long run relationship is obtained by ARDL and Johansen Maximum Likelihood estimations. Elasticity of import demand with respect to income and relative prices are high. This means that the ratio of GDP in income is high and import is very sensitive to changes in relative prices
