The examination and analysis of the collected research data was carried out according to the application/analysis stage of the meta-synthesis method. The findings obtained as a result of the meta-synthesis study are as follows: In Turkey, students mainly read in order to increase their accumulation of knowledge, academic success and to spend their spare time. Students do not have adequate reading habits in Turkey. Female students have a higher rate of reading habits than male students. The students who have parents educational levels are usually affected their reading habits. The high economic level of the parents is mostly an efficient and intensifier factor in the acquisition of reading habits of primary school students. Students mostly prefer to read in the genres of novels, stories, newspapers, magazines; adventure and science fiction. Students use libraries mostly. However, the use of the library does not usually play a positive role in helping students acquire reading habits. Course load/exams, watching television and using computers are standing out as obstacles to students' reading habits. Parents and teachers are mostly effective on students' reading habits. The fact that, students spend more time watching television and playing games on the computer/internet than reading, affects their reading habits negatively.
