Abstract (EN)
This study focuses on the gender regime of the Justice and Development Party (AKP), which has been in uninterrupted power since 2002. Within the context of the gender regime, the study has two main objectives. The first is to analyze the ideological approaches, methods, and actions employed by the party to persuade female voters as part of its gender regime. The second is to understand the roles assigned to female party members in persuading female voters and to reveal the feminine roles that reproduce the gender regime. The study employs a feminist methodology throughout its three sections. The first section provides a historical overview of the gender regime in Turkey. Based on literature review and comparative analysis, this section emphasizes the distinctions between the party's gender regime and those of preceding administrations, as well as the shifts within the party's own successive governments. The second section initiates with a discussion on the political regime, followed by an exploration of its relationship with the gender regime. Then, assertions are made concerning the gender regime based on the form of relationship the political regime establishes with women. Designed as the final section, the third part of the study incorporates field research based on in-depth interviews with female party members. In light of the data gathered in the first and second sections, and following interviews with the respondents, the party's gender regime is critically evaluated from the perspective of women in power.
