The impact of economic growth and development of health sector spending in Turkey

Health is the one of the biggest parameters which shows the development level of societies. It is known that there is a relation between health level and economic development of society. The importance of health sector on economics increases with rise on health and prominent human capital on economic development. While resources for health in society which developed economically increase, health consciousness of people rises correspondingly. Determining health expenses which were carried out to make progress in the basic health indicators and factors which affect these expenses is important. Health and improvement are facts which affect each other vice versa. Because being healthy is very important, it is attracted politicians' attention on health economy and expenses. At the same time, improved health status of countries contributes to productivity and country development positively. In consequence of health systems are determining factors in health expenses, in this study, firstly it is informed about Turkey's health system and then health expenses in the system are revealed and it is made an explanation about health economy which becomes important gradually. At the same time, relation between health expenses and economic development is investigated. Thus, comparison of health determiners and OECD is included and in accordance with aim of the study, current situation and developments are to be investigated by utilizing from statistical datum connected health economy. In this regard, public health expenses which are vital for health expenses finance are included and so Turkey's state of health is cleared up. Therefore, it is aimed to investigate the relation of causation between health expenses and economic development and to reveal through sample of Turkey. In the last part, relation between health expenses and improvement is investigated and relation between health and development with reasons of health care services and ascending health expenses is revealed. At the end of this evaluation, according to economic indicators positive or negative effects of health expenses in Turkey are to be revealed with using ARDL limit test approach.
