Abstract (EN)
In the world music culture, there are many wind instruments that are performed individually or in an orchestra. One of these instruments is the clarinet. From past to present; Clarinets are available in 9 different tones: mibemol, b flat, do, la, labemol, sol, alto, bass and double bass. These clarinets are produced according to two different fret systems, Albert (German) and Boehm (French). The aim of this study is to introduce the left clarinet to Turkey, its spread, the parts of the left clarinet, the fret system, the pipe design and the trees used in its construction, and the masters of construction and to examine the views of the masters on the clarinets they have made. The study was conducted using qualitative research methods. The case study model used for qualitative research was chosen as the model. The data for the research were collected by examining the documents and interviewing. A semi-structured interview form was used during the interviews. In the analysis of the data, descriptive analysis technique was used in order to understand and describe the data. As a result of the study, it was determined that the left clarinet performance is very common in Turkey according to the Albert fret system. For this reason, six instrument makers have been identified for the making of this instrument in Turkey. In the light of the data obtained from these masters, it has been determined that the most used material for this instrument is grenadil wood.
