Abstract (EN)

The subject of this study is voter behavior as part of democracy and direction of political participation. Voter behavior and its direction, taken into consideration within the framework of sociological, psychological and rational approaches theoretically, is the situation where voters make their wishes and demands as a result of their attitudes and actions. The study's aim is to reveal the factors shaping the voter behavior of the panel trestle production workers (ptpws) in Turkish Hard Coal Enterprise (THCE, [TTK]), as central to hard coal production. The method of the study, on the 2024 Local Election in Turkey, includes statistical data analysis based on a structured questionnaire. As considering sociological, psychological and rational approaches integratedly, the universe of the survey study covers the total ptpws in September 2024, based on the THCE database. The sample of the survey study, representing 10% of the universe, was weighted via five hard coal enterprises under THCE, namely Kozlu, Üzülmez, Karadon, Armutçuk and Amasra and was determined by proportional random sampling method. As a result of the study, the primary factors that shape the voter behavior of ptpws were found as the sense of citizenship, the election manifesto and the party leader within psychological approach; the place of residence, the economic situation of the city, personal experiences and achievements within sociological approach, and the fight against corruption, the past works of the party and the ideology of the party within rational approach. Academically, the study contributes to the research subject and to Zonguldak studies.
