Özet (EN)
Social movements are formed to express the discontent of the whole or a part of the society and the issues they demand accordingly. Historically, it has made its presence felt in ancient times. It showed itself in the form of rebellion, action, meeting and demonstration. As of the 19th century, it was seen that it was shaped on the basis of Marxist theory. It was thought that the bourgeois lust for money caused the proletariat to be crushed and faced with very harsh working conditions. On the contrary, it was emphasized that the proletariat must act together and unite on the basis of revolution. Societies shaped by the thought that the current order should be eliminated have engaged in operational activities. This situation continued in the 1960s and emerged as a manifestation of workers' actions. In the context of social movement, it has been observed that student movements are also nourished by this resource. Social movements maintain their existence today by changing and improving themselves according to the conditions of the period. Technological developments in particular increase the capacity for action. Groups organized over the Internet unite over many applications and pages and engage in powerful protest actions. In addition, sensitive issues that are on the agenda in any country with increased cultural affinity with the effect of globalization arise in another country regardless of the country. The Arab Spring, which took place in Tunisia for the first time in North Africa and spread to many Arab countries in 2011, has taken its share from the developing internet environment. The actions that started with the burning of a business tradesman caused the overthrow of many leaders and the death of hundreds of people. In our border neighbor Syria, actions have been replaced by civil war. The process continued with the Gezi Park Events in our country. Gezi Park Protests, which emerged on 27 May 2013, emerged upon the objection of a group of people within the scope of the project to be carried out in Taksim Square and its surroundings. Events got bigger and more complicated day by day. Over time, as a result of the marginal groups becoming one of the protesters, the events went beyond their purpose and turned into actions targeting the government. With the support of the domestic and foreign press, it has become a topic that is followed from abroad. It has been observed that the Internet and its applications had a huge impact on the growth of Gezi Park events. Incidents are a reality in which there is loss of life and property in addition to showing more than one reason for the reasons. Considering the reasons for the Gezi Park protests, this study attempts to answer the question of what kind of relationship economic data has with the emergence of the protests through data and graphs. Work; It was realized by theoretical and literature scanning method.
