Word formation in the dialects of Turkish in Turkey

In this study, the word formation of the dialects of Turkish in Turkey is presented based on derivatives with about 24.000 words after analysing about 250 books, thesis and articles. In the study, a standard classification is used and denominal nouns, deverbal nouns, denominal verbs, deverbal verbs that exist in the dialects of Turkish in Turkey are elaborately analysed. In the analysis 296 derivational suffixes were determined. Moreover, it is pointed out that the dialects of Turkish in Turkey have more suffixes than the written language. Most of these suffixes are more practical and have many different functions that do not exist in the written language. It is seen that most of the suffixes used in historical dialects but forgotten in our written language keep their existence in the dialects of Turkish in Turkey. It is also seen that most of the suffixes that do not exist in our written language but used in modern dialects are in the dialects of Turkish in Turkey with similar functions. It is concluded that the words and forms in the dialects of Turkish in Turkey enlighten many problems in the Turkish Language history and contribute to their solutions and written language must absolutely benefit from the dialects in word derivations.
