Abstract (EN)

In this study, the concept of investments and incentives, how incentives are implemented in Turkey and their effects on economics are emphasized. Also, effects of incentives and promotions on eliminating of regional disparities in Diyarbakır region, during the Turkey?s EU membership process and opinions of Chamber of Industry and Commerce that are located in South Eastern Anatolia about the effects of incentives that are applied on the regional development process; are examined.In the first section, general information about concept and variations of investments is given, in the second section the concept of incentives is explained and incentive system is covered in detail. Also development of industry; that is an important factor of improvement of regional development and support for the industry is mentioned. Incentive system that is applied in European Union and incentive system that is applied in our country are compared, and deficiencies in our system are investigated.In the last section, economic and financial situation of Diyarbakır is mentioned and results of the survey questions about the functional and institutional structures of business enterprises and effectiveness of incentives on companies are interpreted, and recommendations based on these results are involved.
