Abstract (EN)

The TYT 800,000 threshold was first implemented in 2020 for the special talent exam entry of music teaching programs, and allows students with the lowest 800,000th rank in TYT to take the special talent exam. The purpose of this study; TYT 800 thousand threshold application is evaluated in line with the opinions of GSL, GSF musicology department and music education USA students. The study was designed as a qualitative phenomenology study. Ten GSL, ten GSF musicology department and ten music teaching department students participated in the study. As a result, TYT shows that the 800,000 threshold leads to a decrease in applications to Education Faculties, GSL students are not adequately supported in achieving their professional goals, and creates a situation contrary to the principle of equality of opportunity in education. Conducting similar research in different provinces in the future will contribute to addressing the issue from a broader perspective and improving the application processes.
