A comparative study of bağlama (a long-necked turkish lute ) and classical guitar in terms of artistic and teaching process in country

In this study, we researched the artistic and teaching processes of classical guitar and baglama (a long-necked Turkish lute) in our country. In this study, we tried to find answers to these questions: How did these two instruments start and develop in terms of art and teaching? How does their teaching go on? And what are the differences and similarities between these processes? We researched the stages of artistic development processes of classical guitar within a historical perspective and dealt the educational processes within a framework of educational discipline. At the end of the study by determining these processes, we tried to create an awareness and we aimed to form new ideas and views on teaching of insrument playing. This is a completely qualitative study. Data were obtained from documents and by using research techniques. Obtained data were evaluated via descriptive analysis methods. During this research, we also applied the interview technique, a qualitative resarch technique to get the opinions of experts in this field. The results showed that artistic and teaching process of baglama and clssical guitar have diverged in our country and they both have a unique teaching style. We have made some suggestions on teaching processes of these two instruments according to these findings.
