The plasma levels of cytokines in ulcerative colitis

SUMMARY Ulcerative colitis which is still being public health problem can involve colon mucosa from rectum to proximale colon without intact mucosa and it is a chronic inflammatory intestinal disease that has remissions and exacerbations. Disease doesn't only involve digestive system but also affects extraintestinal systems. The cause, ethiopathogenesis and factors that determine the chronic progress of disorder is not known, immunologic mechanisms plays role in inflammation pathogenesis of disease and 60th humoral and cellular mechanism involved. Activation of immune cells causes excessive amount of cytokines and inflammatuar mediators, this leads to tissue damage and severe inflammation. 20 ulcerative colitis patients age between 17-68 that attempt to Dicle Ünivercity Medical Faculty internal Medicine polyclinics and 20 control patients age between 20-45 were involved in the study. Mean age of ulcerative colitis group was 36,2 and mean age of control group was 27,2. We established that EL-2Rsp, IL-6, IL-8 and IL-10 levels of patient and control group were dissimilar. TNF-alfa and IL-1 beta levels were similar. As a result IL-2Rsp, IL-6, IL-8 and IL-10 plays an important role on pathogenesis of ulcerative colitis. We consider that these cytokines are beneficial parametes on diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of ulcerative colitis randomise and widespread studies are required to illuminate object. 41
