Democratic Regions Party municipalities in dilemmas of local services and national politics: as example of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality

Our thesis titled "Democratic Regions Party Municipalities in Dilemmas of Local Services and National Politics: As Example of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality" consist of four chapters. İn the first chapter urban, metropolitan, local government and municipalities which are basic concepts of the study and their meaning are described. Also in this section, change and transformation in the historical process of the municipalities of our country has explained. İn the second chapter the structure and functioning of the Metropolitan municipality with law and relevant legislation has been described. In the third chapter, firstly the concept of politics has deleniated and then relationship between the legal Kurdish Political Movement has examined due to the concept of politics related to the Kurdish issue. Additionally socio-economic information of structure about Diyarbakır province has described. İn the final chapter which is the main subject of thesis how Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality (DMM) which is in the dilemma of local service and national politics reflected on the national media last five year has been analyzed. İn this section Hurriyet, Milliyet and Cumhuriyet newspaper copies which is selected as a example has scanned between the years of 2009-2013. Moreover news about DMM has identified and classified according to the various classes. Also annual reports of the DMM for the years 2009-2013, internet site reports has examined in this context. Diyarbakır is the center of the parties both Democratic Regions of Party and other parties which represent Kurdish Poltical Movement. DMM have been managed by this political parties representing also thought about this ideas for 20 years. Within this period, the municipalities and the mayors of the municipalities have taken place in national news in many times about politics in the media. However, municipalities are often public entities that are created to produce local public services. Thus, this thesis is subject of the how DMM reflected with the time interval designated to the National Press. İn other words, in that time the question of municipality has come to the fore with classic municipal services or discourse national politics and activities is tried to answer in this thesis. Thus, these municipalities has been trying to put forward with what they did whether different from elsewhere in the municipality that is connected to the other party.
