Abstract (EN)

The main aim of the thesis is to look at the international business strategies in a different perspective by examining China and India which are significant actors of the emerging economies and to clarify the status quo within the scope of rules of the game as North said. Hence, A more realistic approach was brought forward by taking account of formal and informal institutions which effect the performances and strategies of the corporations in China and India and by not ignoring industry based view and resource based view. By virtue of having importance of competing and market state in the international business strategies, handling of institutionalization in macro level has been required to state the rules of global game more specifically. The issues of anti-dumping, currency wars, corporate governance and passing from G-8 to G-20 were researched in order to propound competence among countries. While anti-dumping and corporate governance state legal way of institution- based view, passing from G-8 to G-20 propounds political and social ways of instutition-based view. On the other hand, Currency wars indicate the economic aspect. Within the scope of those issues, competitive environment was analyzed. Owing to that analysis, significant findings were offered to domestic and foreign corporations operating in China and India with regards to competition and performance. On account of having been handled of institutionalization in macro level and every country has different institutional enviroment, institutional studies analyzed the relationship between institutionalization and performance were excluded in this thesis.Key Words: Institutionalization, International Business Strategy, Institution-Based View, China, India
