Abstract (EN)

In recent years, the concept of sustainability, which we frequently encounter, can be considered both a cause and a result of the isomorphism of organizations in order to gain legitimacy on a rational basis under changing global conditions. In this regard, institutions within the organizational field of higher education exhibit a tendency toward convergence in their efforts to fulfill sustainability goals. Many universities around the world have started to work in this area and have entered the evaluation to be included in the sustainability rankings of Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings to observe the outcomes of their efforts. The study evaluates the performance of countries using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method, with input variables including the number of universities in the OECD countries, their educational expenditures, and the number of students enrolled in universities, while the output variables include the sustainability impact scores of universities, which were obtained from THE (Times Higher Education) website. It is thought that the information obtained from the research can be used by decision-makers, policy makers and university administrators in countries that are not efficient as a result of the analysis.
