Özet (EN)

Sanctions; after the devastating effect of World War II, it has become one of the most used foreign policy tools because it requires less cost. Sanctions, which are used to discourage or punish a state or international actor from its undesirable behavior, have been preferred as a means of retaliation for the Islamic Republic of Iran for many years. The sanctions targeting Iran's state instruments have shaken the country's economy significantly and left the country faced with chronic high inflation and unemployment. The sanctions, which caused destruction on the macroeconomic variables of the Islamic Republic of Iran, also had some effects on Iran's socio-economic dynamics. In my thesis; what kind of effects international sanctions have on Iran's socio-economic dynamics; areas such as health, education, women's rights and gender equality, food safety, tourism and flight safety were examined and it was concluded that the sanctions not only affected Iran economically, but also negatively affected its socio-economic factors. In this context, it has been understood that the humanitarian exemption in sanctions is not sufficient to prevent the victimization of the civilian population, and attention has been drawn to the paradoxical effect of the sanction mechanism. Key Words: Sanctions, Socio-Economy, Nuclear Program, Islamic Republic of Iran.
