Abstract (EN)

This study is a thesis on musical analysis and the maestro techniques of Köçekçe dance rhapsody, that was composed by Ulvi Cemal Erkin in 1943, and dedicated by him to Vedat Nedim Tör. It is examined on the following topics in overall; The life of Ulvi Cemal Erkin, his artistic personality, his contributions to contemporary Turkish music, and Köçekçe concept in Turkish music, musical form of the work, and maestro techniques. The orchestration and the architecture of this composition are thoroughly examined in the evaluation of the musical form. The concepts expressed in the examination of musical form are the thematic materials used in the composition. Melodic, accompanimental and counterpoint plannings are elaborately explained as for the examination of orchestration. The review of maestro techniques is entitled and categorized as the pieces unravelled in the form analysis of the composition. The beats of odd meters and the meters with basic music time signature are marked in the score and tabularized as schemas along with the musical interpretation details.
