Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, entitled "A Semiotic Analysis of the Promotional Posters of Turkey's Historical Sites and Tourist Attractions in Unesco World Heritage List, which were Released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and a Proposal for a Campaign of a Series of Posters", the posters released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism between 2009 and 2016 to introduce the historical sites and tourist attractions that are in UNESCO World Heritage List were examined, and the images consisting of various signs in these designs, each of which can be considered as a sign system, were evaluated in terms of semiotics. As it is crucial to utilize semiotic units in order to convey the message via poster designs, semiotic analysis is of great significance. With the knowledge and experience obtained during the study, a new series of poster design was proposed as regards Turkey's historical sites and tourist attractions which are in UNESCO World Heritage list.
