Abstract (EN)

This study aims to prepare different marker plans using patterns of children's outerwear models suitable for both genders and to evaluate fabric efficiency and waste rates on these marker plans. The study, a three-stage application study was conducted on all patterns of 6 children's outerwear models used in the production of a corporate Turkish fashion brand with stores at the national level. In the first stage, different marker plan layouts were made by placing single size patterns lengthwise, widthwise and width-lengthwise on the fabric with automatic spreading, and in the second stage, different marker plan layouts were prepared by using single size patterns with manual spreading and jigsaw technique. Finally, in the third stage, multiple-size patterns were used using manual laying and a jigsaw puzzle technique to create different marker plan layouts. It was observed that fabric usage could be reduced as the marker lengths were shortened in different placement studies carried out on these marker plans prepared in the Gerber pattern program used within the company. It has been determined that efficiency rates, which vary between 85-87%, which the company considers as high efficiency, can be increased to above 93% at minimum by interlocking the molds using the jigsaw method and placing the molds on the marker plans with different options to create minimal waste.
