Abstract (EN)
In this research ,Perceived Parental Attitudes in University Students, Belief in Romantic Relationships and Cognitive Distortion Levels Related to Interpersonal Relations were examined. For this purpose, 119 female and 103 male students attending the university in Istanbul and Bursa are the sample group. Participants After the 12-item personal information form, Parental Attitude Scale was used to determine parental attitudes, and Belief Inventory in Relationships to Determine Belief in Romantic Relationships. The study was based on volunteerism and the questionnaires were distributed. The Mann Whitney U test was used for the comparison of two groups and Kruskall Wallis H test was used for the comparison between two groups. Cronbach Alpha coefficient was used for the reliability of the data set obtained from the scales used. Spearman correlation analysis was used to determine the correlation between variables that did not provide the normal distribution assumption. When the perceived parental attitude was authoritarian as a result of the analysis , it was found that the person had low belief in romantic relations and high cognitive distortions related to social relations. When examined by gender, it was determined that fathers had an authoritarian attitude towards their daughters. Key Words: Parental Attitudes, Belief in Romantic Relationships, Cognitive Distortion
