Abstract (EN)

Adolescence, is a bridge between childhood and maturity; characterized bybiological, psychological and social developmental changes, and a period thatwholeness feeling is formed by considering the whole childhood life. After theseparation-individualization process that M. Mahler had described as ?forming objectcontinuation in the first three years?; P. Blos had described adolescence as thesecond separation-individualization period. This situation appears as separation fromfamily ties in adolescences and disappearance of infantile object relations to becomea member of society. When Blos had theoretically explained separation-individualization process inadolescence; he also described behavioral specialties seemed in adolescence andmaturity life and its relation with psychopathology. In adolescence hood separation-individualization; affected by many factors. The following subjects had been studied:age, sexual differences, family form, role of parents, situation of being twins, whetherhas a psychological illness or not, alcohol and drug abuse.Major depression is especially seen in youthness period and biological, inheretical, environmental, psychological factors take role in its etiology. In dynamicalpoint of view; individualization defeat, distrustful connection, negative parent projects, object relations can be counted as depression causes. It?s a common fact to have anger during adolescence period. According toBlos who described new come close crisis appear again adolescences who have aseparation-individualization process; the violence, anger blasts and actionalbehavioral represents the lack of individualization. In world literature and in our country, the studies of separation-individualizationin adolescence period are limited. In this study; we tried to determine the relation ofadolescence separation-individualization specialties with demographical factors, depression and anger. We included 1074 university first class students who volunteered to became apart of this study and we select 1026 of these students who filled the forms correctly. We gave sociodemographical data form, adolescence separation-individualizationtest (AABT) in Turkish, continuous anger-anger style scale (SÖÖTÖ) and Beckdepression inventory to his group. We solved the relations of sociodemographical data and separation-individualization specialties in adolescences who participated in this study with MannWhitney-U, Krustal Wallis variant analization and single way variant analyzes(ANOVA) tests. In multicomparistion; benforoni test has been used as post-hoc test. The relation between adolescences separation-individualization levels, depressionand continuous anger-anger style had been appraised by using correlation analysis. In our study; we figured out the following results supporting our hypothesis: thegirls have higher points in separation anxiety, sticking to friends, sticking to teacher, making practice-mirrorising, healthy separation and seeking for care; on the otherhand the boys have higher points in denying their needs. As adolescences get older;the positive separation-individualization characteristics increase, as number of thebrothers-sisters increase separation become more difficult, negative effect of strictand hard discipline parent perception on adolescence separation-individualization,perception of adolescence?s his-her parents as cold, insufficient, distant and lack ofinterest causes increasement in separation-swallowing anxiety. The illness of parentsin childhood have negative effect in this process, the higher educational level ofparents have positive effect in adolescences separation-individualization process. The first three years period of mother care has positive effect in separation-individualization. In youths whom their fathers take care of; the positive effect inseparation-individualization become low. The change of babysitter has a negativeeffect on separation-individualization. Relation between friends has a positive effectin separation-individualization. Making sports and participating in a social group hasa positive effect. Alcohol and drug abuse has a negative effect. The youths who havepsychiatric and physical illness experience difficulties in separation-individualizationprocess.As confirming our hypothesis in teens who have depression will have negativeseparation-individualization; we figured out that negative specialties of separation-individualization like separation anxiety, swallowing anxiety, denying the needs andexpectation of refusal have positive relations in higher depression points. On theother hand; the positive specialties of separation-individualization like: sticking tofriend, making practice and mirrorising, healthy separation have positive relations inlower depression points. In our study; we figured out the togetherness of high continuous anger levels,anger-inside levels, anger-outside levels with negative separation-individualizationcharacteristics. The anger control points are found to have related with positiveseparation-individualization characteristics. We consider that our study can be frontier in these subjects and the futurestudies about second separation-individualization process.
