Religiosity attitudes of university students

This research aimed to analyze the religiosity of university youth. The sample group of our study consists of students studying at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Faculty of Islamic Sciences. In this context, a questionnaire was applied to a sample group consisting of 864 students between the ages of 18-25. According to the findings, female students are more religious than male students. Young people between the ages of 18-19 consider themselves more religious. It was determined that the perception of religiosity of the young people studying at the Faculty of Islamic Sciences was higher than the other two faculties. Among the types of high schools completed, it is seen that the religiousness perception of Imam-Hatip high school graduates is high. It is seen that the religiosity scale score of the segment with low family income is higher than the other segments. However, it is seen that the level of religiosity of the participants who resided in the village-town before starting university is higher. The findings were discussed in the light of the literature. There are many studies conducted on university students. However, due to the dynamic and multifaceted nature of youth, up-to-date research will always be needed.
