Abstract (EN)

Financial literacy has become an important issue with modern times. Financial literacy includes individuals' correct attitudes and behaviors in financial matters. Financial attitude and behavior affect people is entire lives. For this reason, individuals should make the right and conscious decision. Financial literacy level affects not only the economies of individuals, but also the economy of the country. The aim of this study is to determine the financial literacy level of Yeditepe University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences students and Faculty of Education students. Financial literacy level is examined in the dimensions of financial attitude, financial perception, financial interest and financial expenditure in the study. In addition, students' financial literacy levels were examined under demographic and descriptive characteristics. In the study, a sample of 208 people was used. Independent sample t test, one-way analysis of variance and multiple research tests were used to analyze the data. According to the findings, a significant relationship was observed between individuals' financial literacy levels and gender, mother's education level, father's education level, their faculties and departments, grade level and economic or finance education. There is no significant relationship between gender and financial attitude, financial perception and financial interest. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that financial literacy level of the students was medium. Financial literacy levels of students who received financial education were found to be higher. Financial education is needed to increase the level of financial literacy.
