Examining the relationship between future time perspective and meaning of li̇fe, psychological resilience and intolerance to uncertainty in university students by path analysis

The main purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between the future time perspective psychological flexibility, intolerance of uncertainty and the meaning of life scores of university students. The model created for this purpose has been tested. The study group of the research consists of 404 students studying in various departments at Çukurova University, Erciyes University, Harran University and Hakkari University in the academic year of 2020-2021. Within the scope of the research, the data were obtained with the Personal Information Form, Future Time Perspective Scale, Meaning in Life Questionnaire, Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale and the Acceptance and Action Form 2. Path analysis method was used in the analysis of the research. According to the research results, the present meaning, which is a dimension of the meaning of life, and the prospective anxiety, which is the dimension of intolerance of uncertainty, predict the future time perspective in a meaningful way. Psychological flexibility, on the other hand, predicts present meaning and inhibitory anxiety, which is another dimension of intolerance of uncertainty and prospective anxiety. The searched meaning, which is another dimension of the meaning of life, does not predict the future time perspective, but it is also not predicted by psycological flexibility. In addition, it does not predict the future time perspective of inhibited anxiety, which is another dimension of intolerance to uncertainty.
