The role of future time perspective and uncertainty tolerance in predictioning the career construction levels of university students

The main purpose of this research is to determine the career structuring levels of university students; is to examine whether it is significantly predicted by future time perspective and uncertainty tolerance. The research was carried out with the participation of 439 students studying at various faculties of Çukurova University in 2022-2023. In the study, data were obtained with Personal Information Form, Student Career Construction Inventory (ÖKYE), Future Time Perspective Scale (GZPÖ), and Uncertainty Tolerance Scale (BDI). Pearson's correlation, t-Test for Independent Samples and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis were used in the analysis of the data of the study. As a result of the research; There is a positive correlation between the university students' total score of career construction and the scores they get from the dimensions and the future time perspective scores; Negatively significant correlations were found between uncertainty tolerance scores. No relationship was found only between the exploration sub-dimension of career construction and uncertainty tolerance. In the study, it was seen that the predictive variables together predicted career structuring significantly at the level of 15%. The relative importance of the predictor variables on career configuration; future time perspective and uncertainty tolerance. It was found that students' future time perspective and uncertainty tolerance scores significantly predicted the scores they got from career construction and its sub-dimensions. The results were discussed within the framework of the relevant literature, and suggestions were made for researchers and practitioners.
