The world population is increasing, the increasing population is generally concentrated in cities. Various problems have arisen in cities with rapidly increasing population, due to population growth. One of these problems is especially urban transportation problems.Due to the increasing population in the cities, the number of motor vehicles is gradually increasing. This harms the environment and human health. Especially harmful gases emitted by motor vehicles cause irreparable damage to human health, especially the respiratory system, in big cities. Considering the factors such as environmental damage and human health, the use of bicycles as a sustainable transportation vehicle is the most appropriate decision. Bicycle use does not harm human health, on the contrary, it benefits the human musculoskeletal system. When the developed countries and transportation systems are examined, it is noteworthy that the rate of bicycle use is high. Especially in European cities, the use of bicycles and bicycle paths are very developed. Bike lanes in many cities, including their metropolitan primarily in Turkey in recent years and continues to be made. This study established the relationship between sustainability and transportation, types of urban transport systems and described the characteristics of this system, examined samples of bicycle transport in developed countries and in Turkey and cyclists are given the necessary information about transport regulations. A bicycle path planning was made for Sivas Cumhuriyet University Campus by making the necessary analyzes.
