The reflection of emotions in the poems of famous Turkish poets on fashion

Humanity has progressed by adapting to the changing and transforming world from past to present. In this process, individuals have abandoned some of their habits, sometimes willingly and sometimes compulsorily, and have developed new lifestyles, understandings and practices instead. Literature, which functions as a cultural memory in this transformation process, bears important traces of the historical, social and cultural fabric of society. Literature, which has a long history dating back long before the invention of writing, has been one of the most powerful forms of human self-expression. In this context, poets are among the most fundamental carriers and representatives of literature..However, today, with the rapidly changing world order, digitalization and the dominant effects of popular culture, interest in literature is gradually decreasing. The main starting point of this study is to draw attention to this situation and to make the value of literature visible again. Fashion, one of the disciplines that attracts the attention of society today, has the potential to reach large masses through its interaction with popular culture. In this context, creating a creative space at the intersection of literature and fashion makes it possible for a new form of expression to emerge both artistically and culturally. This study aims to reinterpret literature as a form of visual expression by bringing literature and fashion disciplines together through garments designed with inspiration from poems and poets. The limited number of studies in this field in the literature reveals the originality of the subject and the necessity of the study. Within the scope of the study, original fashion designs have been developed based on the thematic and aesthetic elements of the selected poems; through these designs, it is aimed to transform literary works into concrete, wearable art forms.
