Özet (EN)

In this study, 52 women admitted to Fırat University Research and Application Hospital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with infertility between August 1989 and July 1991 were included in the study. The efficiency of four methods (BBT, serum LH and progesterone, urinary LH measurements and endometrial biopsy) were evaluated for the determination of ovulation determination and time. LH measurements in urine and serum, midluteal serum progesterone measurements, basal body temperature measurements, luteal phase endometrial biopsies were performed in spontaneous or induced ovulated cycles. The presence of ovulation in all patients was confirmed by luteal phase progesterone levels and endometrial biopsy specimens. These parameters for ovulation determination and time determination were discussed in comparison with each other. Nowadays, the beginning of the LH curve is accepted as the most reliable indicator of the expected ovulation. The use of urinary LH kits that reflect serum LH changes, which the patient can use himself, has been developed as a practical method for the determination of ovulation. Urinary LH values which are not affected by episodic secretions as in serum; It is a practical method for determination of ovulation determination and time, which can be performed easily by means of these kits even in the home environment. The widespread use of these kits in the future is a relatively inexpensive method to reduce the burden of patients and physicians.
