Özet (EN)
In our study; we aimed to investigate the effect of capnography monitoring in addition to standard monitoring on apnea, hypoxemia, desaturation and other vital parameters in cases of ureterorenoscopy (URS) performed under sedation. In our study; were included 150 patients between the ages of 18-75 who were to undergo elective URS under sedation. The cases were randomly divided into 2 groups of each 75 people. The cases with capnography monitoring were named as "Study Group", and the cases without capnography monitoring were named as "Control Group". The patients were routinely monitored. In addition, ETCO2 and integrated pulmonary index (IPI) were monitored non-invasively in the cases in the study group. During sedation, apnea, hypoxemia, development of desaturation and interventions in airway management in two groups were recorded. While the number of people who developed hypoxemia at least once in the study group was 3 (4%), the number of people who developed hypoxemia at least once was 17 (22.7%) in the control group (p<0.05). While the number of people who developed desaturation at least once in the study group was 3 (4%), the number of people who developed desaturation at least once in the control group was 24 (32%) (p<0.05). No statistically significant difference was found between the development of apnea in the Study group and control group patients. In addition, no statistically significant difference was found between the minimum SpO₂ values between the groups. As a result, in our study; with capnography monitoring, respiratory depression can be detected immediately and the development of apnea, hypoxemia and desaturation can be prevented with necessary intervention. Key words: Capnography, end-tidal carbon dioxide, apnea, hypoxemia, desaturation.
