Usability of mobile application: The comparison of the user satisfaction based on the task completion time

Mobile technologies play an important role in the way individuals organize and direct their everyday lives with mobile applications individuals use throughout the day. Mobile applications are preferred for ease of life and faster access to desired information. Nevertheless, developing beneficial applications the most critical aspect in ensuring continuity and preferability in the speedily increasing mobile application market. Usually, when a mobile application is created, its functionality is first checked and then launched. Companies often only take their liking and expectations into consideration before offering their mobile apps. However, many users may prefer not to use the applications because users decide to continue or ignore within 50 milliseconds of seeing an interface [36]. Therefore, the task completion time is vital for a mobile application. In this research, MHRS (Centralized Hospital Appointment System) mobile application is examined to compare the user satisfaction based on the task completion time in terms of the System Usefulness Satisfaction, Information Quality Satisfaction, and Interface Quality Satisfaction. The posttest only quasi-experimental design was used as a research method in this study. The study was conducted with 10 participants consisting of 5 women and 5 men. Participants were selected among people who were prone to mobile technology use and had not used MHRS mobile application before. The tablet computer literacy scale questionnaire was used to test the users' ability to use mobile technology. PSSUQ was used to measure the satisfaction rate of the users. In order to evaluate the results, the Mann Whitney U-Test was used. The results show that, the users who completed the tasks below the average time were found to be more satisfied with the MHRS application than the users who completed the tasks above the average time.
