Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is that to compare the anthropometric, strength, flexibility, jump, agility, speed and reaction performances of advanced handball and volleyball players. A total of 28 professional athletes in the Guneysu Handball Team (14) in the Handball Super League of Turkey and Arhavi Volleyball Team (14) in the Turkish Volleyball Efeler League participated in the research. Before the tests were applied to the athletes, information was given about the purpose, importance and content of the tests and measurements were applied only to volunteer athletes. In order to method of the study, height, weight, subcutaneous oil, diameter and environment, grip force, back force, flexibility, vertical jump, long jumping, agility, speed and hand-foot reaction tests were performed. After physiological measurements, body mass index, body fat percentage and somatotype were identified. Licensed Office 365 Pro Plus Microsoft Office package program was used in the thesis writing. Statistical tests were performed in SPSS and JASP statistical package programs for Windows. Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S) and Shapiro-Wilk normality tests were applied to the data obtained from the measurements. Data with normal distribution; In binary comparisons, the T-test for two groups of independent groups at =0.05 significance level, mann-whitney-U test was applied to the data that does not have normal distribution. The test results showed that there were significant differences between the grip force, back strength, flexibility, vertical jump, stopping long jump, speed and hand reaction time (p <0.05). Differences between agility and foot reaction time were not statistically important (p> 0.05). In addition, it was determined that 8 of the handball players were mesomorph, 6 of them were mesomorph-endomorphic, 9 of the volleyball players were ectomorph and 5 of them were ectomorph-endomorphic. As a result; It was seen that handball players are dominant in force, speed and reaction based performance values, and volleyball players were more dominant in performance values based on flexibility and strength. It was also determined that the body structure of the handballers is muscular and wide, the body structure of the volleyballers is fine and long. It can be said that the performance values they used as a result of the sports activities they have made from the results are superior to other sports branch.
