Özet (EN)
In this doctoral thesis, the socio-economic, socio-cultural, socio-demographic characteristics of people who are involved in drug crimes (TCK articles 188 and 191 and drug and stimulant crimes in law no. 2313) and people who are not involved in crime are investigated on a household basis and their socio-economic, socio-cultural, socio-demographic characteristics and their experiences in judicial processes are investigated and whether there is a rationality in drug crimes. In the study; Whether the forensic financial traces of drug crimes are calculable or not, the subjective-objective rationality of the crime based on the purpose-means relationship, exchange rationality, the irrational situation in the background, which can be called the spirit of drug crime, which is visible as well as unseen, are examined. The research population consists of individuals and households involved and not involved in drug crimes in the Adana Provincial Courthouse. In the study, information was collected from drug crime case files (106 people), interviews were conducted with household members (one person per household) who were not involved in crime (36) and involved in crime (10 people), and one-on-one interviews were conducted with people involved in crime (14). The research is an empirical quantitative comparative research based on documents, existing statistics and interviews as a general framework. In data analysis, statistical techniques such as independence, difference and variance analysis were used, starting from simple and cross tables, through the Jamovi 2.3.21 program. According to the results of the research; It is seen that the expectations of people involved in drug crimes, such as material wealth, money, consumption, high earnings, prosperity in a short time, as well as prestige and power/influence, constitute their initial "goals" in motivating crime, and they use drug and stimulant trade as a "tool" to achieve these goals. Drug trafficking; It is rational for the owners/large operators of the drug, mid-level intermediaries can also be considered profitable, while there are more losses than profits for the lower-level distributors and final sellers. Class differentiations and social power imbalances form the background of the drug trade and exchange relations.
