The research of Turkish education studies carried out through distance and online education

The purpose of this research is to examine Turkish education studies conducted through distance and online education. These studies are limited to theses and articles. In the study, the basic qualitative research model, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used. In the research, 38 studies, including 20 theses and 18 articles having been obtained as a result of scanning certain keywords, were examined. The expert opinion was consulted both in the process of determining the keywords and in selection of the studies to be used. The obtained data is analyzed by descriptive analysis. In the research, it was concluded that the number of studies conducted through distance and online education is few. Since it is thought that doctoral theses contribute more to the field, it has been seen that the number of doctoral theses on this subject is insufficient. It was concluded that the studies focused on the subject rather than the skill. The studies focused on the skill has been seen to focus on speaking and writing skills. However, it was concluded that there are not studies focusing on reading and listening skills. It has been observed that the study groups used in studies on this field are generally student groups. Moreover, it has been concluded that there are few studies in which the teacher study group is used. The studies using the student study group have shown that students were mostly used with students at the university level. However, it was concluded that no study was carried out with the students at primary school level. It has been seen that the most commonly used method in studies on this subject is the scanning method. The studies were mostly conducted in the category of teaching Turkish as a mother tongue. It has been observed that the theses on this subject are mostly made in the field of Turkish and Social sciences education (Turkish education). This has confirmed that the subject of the research is compatible with the major science.
