Design and installation of sound systems in distance education applications

Earliest attemps of remote or distance education/learning has been made within the bounds possibility of letters, telegrams or fax where there is distance between the student and the lecturer. And today, with the help of internet and newly improvements more sophisticated technologies like web based interfaces, audio and video conferences or public lecture systems set into motion. This study focuses on history of remote education, legal processes through history, area of utilizations, law and regulations, and giving information about the foundation of this system. With the historical process of remote education, the technologies regarding to this process also improved with it and gained importance and started to draw more attention. From the early days of distance learning to present, process is now in need of more complicated solutions like multimedia devices which audiotory and visually works syncronized with softwares and hardwares. In this thesis, how various multimedia files are converted to digital data and operated online synchronously in a reliable full-fledged remote education system that uses special IP and network protocols are explained. And an examplary design and installation of a full-fledged system has been shaped; the usability, possible problems, deficiencies, advantages of such a system in remote education and in different sub-fields and alternatives are evaluated and interpreted.
