Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the shock channels in the Vinales meteorite by physical and chemical methods and to understand the conditions that form these structures. First, a thin section of the meteorite was prepared, mosaic photographs were taken separately as plane polarized and cross polarized under the polarizing microscope, and by adding them to each other, the general view of the thin section was obtained. By working on the photographs taken at high magnification, it was decided from which points the Raman Spectra would be collected. In order to understand its chemistry, regions that were mainly under the shock effect were selected. Following the collected Raman data, the minerals that make up the Vinales meteorite were examined with a polarizing microscope, and their petrographic properties were examined. Finally, the thin section was photographed in mosaic form in the back scatter detector (BSE) in the electron microscope, and point spectra were collected from the determined places in order to understand the elemental chemistry. The aim is to bring the Vinales meteorite, which has undergone changes in its chemical and physical structure under shock metamorphism, to the literature in order to contribute to meteorite studies in Turkey.
