Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to compare students performance with the opinions of students and teachers related to the solution of the intonation problem encountered during the cello education process, to reveal the causes of intonation problems encountered in cello education based on opinions and empirical data, to emphasise the importance of the subject and to make necessary recommendations to minimize the problem of intonation. The participants of this study are three cello teachers working at Bolu Fine Art High School in the 2018-2019 academic year and seventeen cello students in the first, second, third and fourth grades. A questionnaire was applied to cello teachers and students to obtain their opinions about intonation problems. Each cello student was observed by the researcher and cello teachers six times over a period of three weeks. The observation was carried out twice a week by means of the performance observation form to reveal the intonation problems of the cello students. During the observations, some works were played by the students and they were selected together with the cello teachers from the book entitled "Güzel Sanatlar Lisesi Çalgı Eğitimi Ders Kitabı" in line with students' grades and levels. xviii The research is a descriptive survey study. In this study, "Teacher Questionnaire Questions", "Student Questionnaire Questions" and "Performance Observation Form" were prepared by the researcher in accordance with the expert opinions in line with the purpose and importance of this research study. The findings obtained in this research study are based on frequency and percentage values calculated by SPSS for the first sub-problem of this research study. On the other hand, Willcoxon Signed Rank Test (One Sample Willcoxon Signed Rank Test) was used for the second sub-problem. Finally, Mann-Whitney U Test was used for the third sub-problem. As a result of this research study, the importance of the concept of intonation was emphasized, the factors which can cause intonation problems were examined and solutions were proposed based on the findings. It was found in this study that there was a positive similarity between the opinions of cello teachers and students' attitudes towards the solution of intonation problems. It was realizes that there are signifant differences between student performance and teacher attitudes towards the intonation problem. Analyzing the comparison of student views and performances for the solution of intonation problems, it was found that there was a difference in some of the results, but there was no difference in one part of the result.
