Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT At the introduction of my master degree thesis, first of all, I introduced the instrument "violoncello". As you can see, this work is divided into four chapters and just after the "introduction" section, in the first chapter, I wrote the biographies of the authors and composers of the basic beginning methods and secondary degree assisting books that are very much helpful for violoncello education. In the second chapter, I listed all the basic beginning methods which are applied through the violoncello education by the teacher and carefully examined their contents. Also I tried to give my personal opinions and ideas about these methods educational ways and of course the weakest and strongest sides of them. My criticism about these books are supported by studying on their technical directions and systematic sides. I wanted to give enough information about these methods and books to the reader of this thesis by giving necessary knowledges. In this chapter the well-known basic methods and the methods which are not so much close to violoncello teachers in Turkey are studied together. These violoncello pedagogs that their methods and creatings are examined in this work are L. Abbiate, F. Antal, J. J. F. Dotzauer, L. R. Feuillard, F. A. Kummer, S. Lee, L. N. Marderovsky, R. Sapojnikov, C. Schroder, D. Svirkis, S. Suzuki, J. Werner. Third chapter is about etudes, exercises and albums with piano accompaniments which are auxiliary quality for the improvement of violoncello education and all of these are introduced to the reader by the writer of the thesis. By this chapter payed attention that violoncello education must not be structured only on the basic methods; the teacher have to use the secondary ones together with them. I gave some offers for a better and useful violoncello education and of course for a better evaluate of the basic methods. I supported my work with an extensive source and tried to write a complete thesis with aiming to form a best one in the violoncello education area. Mümtaz Hakan SAKAR, 1997. İZMİR VIII
